Mega Connections

This prestigious headquarters for the Caisse de Depot comprises three separate buildings connected by a 10-story atrium to form a modern-day financial complex.  Located in the heart of Montreal and straddling the Ville-Marie tunnel, a series of 100ft span trusses were required to transfer the 16-story interior columns to the perimeter foundation walls.

SBSA designed the connections for the transfer trusses using a longitudinal stiffener method in order to save material and reduce fabrication costs. We also designed the connections for the ductile bracing system.
