Conversion of an Existing Storage Building into a State of the Art Processing Facility

Terrapure invested heavily into new equipment to upgrade its Saint Catherine, Quebec, facility which specializes in the recycling of lead acid automotive batteries. While the focus of the project was certainly the procurement, design, and installation of the new process equipment, SBSA played a critical role by designing the support structures, and the upgrades and modifications to the existing buildings to house the new equipment.

Limited space within the existing buildings meant constant collaboration and coordination with the client and process engineers, who were working internationally. Having no structural drawings of the existing buildings SBSA helped resolve numerous unexpected situation rapidly and efficiently.
