Major extension of  6 floors plus 3 basements (with provisions for future 5 floor vertical extension) between the existing Holt Renfrew and the Globe Buildings on Sherbrooke St.  The design requirement was for the preservation of the existing three 4-storey greystone and the notable Notman Buildings.  These were supported on post-tensioned girders resting on temporary piles before excavation could proceed 25 feet below their original foundation levels.  Waterproofing of the foundation walls was by vertical drainage through the exterior galvanized steel deck cells.
