Our office was responsible for the considerable structural modifications required for Code Conformance including major exiting modifications to the turn of the century structure, as well as fire-proofing and sprinkler additions, and kitchen renovations.
After years of monitoring a slowly rotting parking structure, it was finally decided to demolish the 4-storey structure and replace it by a reinforced concrete parking structure designed for a future extension of the hotel floors up to the existing roof level, fully respecting the original architectural integrity of the building.
Presently we are undergoing a very challenging renovation project as well as a $90 million 11-storey vertical extension, this innovative work combines the new structure with the existing and often under challenging conditions.
