Montreal’s New Olympic House

Built on the site of the old Dupont Building at the corner of Beaver Hall and René-Lévesque, this 31-level office building was commissioned by Trizec, and for a while served as Air Canada’s head office. The structural system consisted of combined ductile shear walls/rigid frames. Joints were detailed for ductility to facilitate resistance of many cycles of earthquake load reversal. In 2015, the building was renamed Olympic House Montreal, and is now used by the Olympic committee.
