One of the Tallest Buildings in Montreal

Formerly CIL House, and then Royal Trust, this building was among the 4 tallest buildings (39 levels) built in Montreal in the early sixties, rivaling the CIBC, Place Ville Marie and Place Victoria buildings in height.

The design consisted of moment connected steel beam and column frames with a ”blended” deck.  This was a precursor to burying the electrical conduits within the floor diaphragm.
